Re-enactment
Since the April this year I became a member of a Viking Age (793-1066ad) Re-enactment group called The Vikings! (of Middle England) also known as Tyrslith.
We perform our displays including Living History, Combat and Special Effects from crowds of a few hundred to a few thousand! Our shows take us from Tutbury Castle, near Burton in Derbyshire, to Rockingham Castle in Stafford.
The whole point of re-enactment is to provide an Accurate and Entertaining display for the often paying public, while enjoying ourselves, safley.
All items we use in our shows, from our weapons to our surgical equiptment are of museum quality standards, based on archaelogical evidence from sites around the Viking world. Our weapons use a strong and hardy steel often known as Spring Steel, for all extents and purposes our weapons are real, they just lack an edge to their blade.
We all have our own alter-egos while we are on show, and in many cases within the group we are known only by our alternative names, we come from all walks of life, from Teachers, to Database Managers, to Warehouse Operatives and Aerospace Engineers.
Within the group I have a Father, Mother, Sister and Brother. Hence I have taken the name "Dagmaersson"
